INSTAAR Biogeochemistry Lab

Members of Alan Townsend's INSTAAR Biogeochemistry Lab (IBL) study how terrestrial ecosystems work, how they are being changed by human activity, and how those changes may affect human welfare.

These studies range from plot-level studies in tropical and alpine ecosystems, to regional studies of changing biogeochemical cycles, including their effects on human health.
